The Big 5 Afternoon Safari (Private) will have an estimated duration of 3.5 to 4 hours.
For individual guests or groups of guests wanting to have a more private experience, vehicles can be booked out for exclusive use. Our guides will take you on a fantastic journey through the Big 5 wilderness. Guests will be driving in open safari vehicles and will have the chance to encounter Africa’s
incredible animals up close. Guides do make use of designated radios to share animal and bird sightings with each other (this increases the chances of sightings for guests). During the safari, our guides will stop for sundowner drinks and some light snacks. At these stops, guests can take a break from sitting in the vehicles. After your incredible safari, guests will return to the same designated place where the safari first departed from.
The Greater Kruger National Park is a large wilderness area that encompasses not only the main National Park but adjoining nature reserves. These adjoining reserves make up the vast area known as, The Greater Kruger National Park.
As with the National Park itself, these reserves exist for the preservation of wildlife and the wilderness areas which these creatures need to survive. Many of the adjoining reserves only have private access and general public does not have permission to explore these areas. Although access is generally private for people, the animals are free to roam as they please. This means the adjoining reserves provide great game viewing opportunities for those fortunate enough to visit them.
Matumi Destinations offers a safari where guests can have this opportunity to travel on a private reserve with one of our professional guides. Our guides are well versed in ensuring our guests are comfortable and given only the best treatment, whilst showing you the very best of Africa.
The Private Reserve Safari can be offered either as a morning safari or an afternoon safari. The duration of each safari is usually between three and a half to four hours. During this time, guests will explore an area and be exposed to all that The Greater Kruger National Park has to offer.
This type of safari is for guests looking to experience a different part of this great wilderness area and who would prefer to choose either a morning or an afternoon safari, depending on their preference. Guests have all the same chances of seeing the Big Five, as well as all the other inhabitants of this unique ecosystem.
